Creating an index for your book can be time-consuming and stressful. I have been a professional indexer for 15 years, creating indexes for a wide range of non-fiction books.

How it works

Your index should be created once your book has been typeset and proofread so that all page numbers are correct. Even small changes at this stage can throw the index out.

Upon receipt of printed page proofs and a PDF of the typeset book, I will read your manuscript and note the terms that should – and shouldn’t – be included in your index. I then create a Word document with full page references to all the relevant terms, ready to be inserted into your design document and formatted accordingly.
